Spartans U12 1v2 Littleport Town Colts U12

Port ground out another hard earned win in an evenly fought contest. Played on a very large pitch with full size goals both teams struggled with the size which was largely unacceptable for an U12 game.

Port played the majority of the first 15 minutes camped inside the opposition half as Brampton struggled to clear the ball but created few clear cut chances.

Brampton took the lead against the run of play but rarely threatend again in the first half before Colt Harvey equalised before half-time.

Port started the second half on the back foot as Brampton this time enjoyed the territorial advantage without really creating too many chances and as the half wore on Port created good chances on the break and had the choice of the final ball on the attack been better may have added to their first half strike. Harvey scored his second and what proved to be the winner mid way thro the half before Tom Wakfield thought he'd scored a third before being harshly flagged for offside. After that Ryan Goodson nearly grabbed his first goal for the club.

Brampton however finished the stronger team and without creating any clear chances put the Port defence under pressure but they held firm for a well deserved win.

Another good result for the boys however passing could have been better on such a large pitch and final decision making could have seen a much more convincing victory.

Overall however well done again as the unbeaten run continues

Man of the match: Tom Faulkner who kept the Brampton dangerman quiet all game while the whole defence and keeper Gareth Ball performed well in the second half.

Team: Gareth Ball, Ben Wakefield, Thomas Green, Cristiano Cabrial, Tom Faulkner, Tom Wakefield, Ethen Povey, Morgan Coleridge, Colt Harvey, Jamie Davidson,  Harlee Cater, Ryan Goodson, Deividas Paukstys
