Littleport Town Colts U12

Littleport Town Colts U12 5-4 Fulbourn Falcons

Port gained another vital home win however this was definitely a game of two halfs. Port started the game brightly enough creating a couple of chances however found themselves a goal down following a defensive mistake, this seemed to knock Port's confidence and two further goals before half-time saw Port facing an uphill battle to salvage anything from the game. Despite conceding 3 goals in the first half Port still had enough good chances to be in the lead as in fairness Fulbourn converted all chances given to them whereas Port were particularly wastefull in front of goal with Colt Harvey and Tom Wakefield the main culprits.

The second half was a completely different game with Port, with a slight wind behind them, dominant from the start, winning all tackles as Fulbourn barely threatened. Port pulled the game back with goals from Colt Harvey (2) and Harlee Cater as Ports midfield threaded through balls with ease while a corner from Tom Faulkner was flicked on by Morgan Coleridge for Harvey to complete his hat-trick, further chances went begging with the home goal keeper saving well again from Wakefield. Ports defense performed particularly well in the second half restricting Fulbourn to the odd breakaway however with around 5 minutes left Fulbourn, with a rare attack, scored again with a goal that looked to have salvaged a draw.

The game ended in controversy when Harvey broke through, despite a linesman's flag being raised, and scored the winner for Port. The goal was however allowed to stand. Protests from the away team and particular dissent from their players spolied what had been a good game between two comitted teams.

Another good win for Port which was again made very hard through a couple of defensive mistakes, poor finishing and at times general lack of concentration. The one thing however that the boys are never short of is determination and never say die attitude and again this won them the game.

Man of the match by a long distance - Morgan Coleridge who performed superbly in midfiled winning all tackles and every aerial challenge. Tom Faulkner also played well at left back.

Team: Gareth Ball, Ben Wakefield, Thomas Green, Cristiano Cabrial, Tom Faulkner, Tom Wakefield, Ethen Povey, Morgan Coleridge, Colt Harvey, Jamie Davidson, Keaton Aggaswal, Harlee Cater
