NST Strikers 2-5 Littleport Town Colts U12

Littleport returned to action after a short break with a comfortable win away to NST

NST started the game with only 10 players and the numerical advantage counted in Port's favour from the start as they looked threatening on the break with Tom Wakefield chargin down the right flank at every opportunity. In the opening quarter NST rarely threatened with Port camped inside the opposition half with the home goal keeper saving well on a few occassions to deny Wakefield, Harlee Cater and Colt Harvey. Port however soon took the lead when Harvey finished when played through.

This should then have seen Port push on and punish NST however the home team worked there way back into the game and began to create a few chances with the Port defence looking quite nervous, keeper Morgan Coleridge however looked assured as he produced a couple of good saves.

Port increased their lead just before half time when Harvey converted again.

The second half was much the same, Ports attacking play all about pace and attacking at speed on the break while the home teams 10 men passed the ball around better. Port still created chances and Harvey finished again for his third while the best was a great shot into the top corner by Cater while Cater then crossed for Harvey to notch his fourth and the fifith of the game. In between those final goals NST grabbed two well deserved goals for their efforts as Port were pushing on looking for further goals.

Overall a pleasing result however Port must learn to make better decisions for the final ball as with better passing near goal Port could have scored many more.
