As well as unique architecture, Whittlesey also boasts some unique traditions, such as the Straw Bear Festival. On the first Monday after 12th night a local man was traditionally wrapped in straw to resemble a bear, and escorted around the town, dancing in return for gifts of money, beer or food. Revived in 1980 the procession now contain over 250 dancers, musicians and performers from all over the British Isles, and creates a wonderful spectacle that draws crowds from near and far.

In addition to the various charms of Whittlesey, Fallowfields also offers you the natural beauty and splendour of the fens.
